Structure is extremely important for those new to recovery, and all residential treatment facilities will come equipped with a fair amount of rules. In most cases, the base rules are similar:
- Patients may not leave the premises.
- Patients must participate in group and one-on-one therapy sessions.
- Patients must undergo regular drug tests (and, of course, maintain complete abstinence from all mood and mind altering substances).
- Patients must avoid conflict with others.
The rules will be discussed when a patient is first admitted to the facility, and the consequences of breaking the rules will also be clearly laid out. There will always be a zero-tolerance policy when it comes to drugs and alcohol. In order to succeed in treatment and go on to live a rewarding life of long-term recovery, the rules must be closely followed. Willingness is key! If you are unsure which intensity of inpatient treatment is right for you, it is advised that you undergo an in-person, in-depth evaluation. To set up an evaluation with one of our staff members, please feel free to give us a call at your convenience.
